Happy Zero!

Happy Zero Birthday to With Heart! What a blessing it is to finally present this labor of love to you all! The rebrand of this blog could not have been possible without my Creative Consultant Katie Bickers. When I began to work with her she so sweetly sent me a welcome package. In it included a “0” birthday candle, but what she wrote on the note touched me deeply.

“Happy Zero Birthday! Zero is not nothing - it is the starting line. It is the moment you say “YES” to God’s ideas, your creativity, and your calling. Zero is full of potential and I am so proud of your courage to begin. Zero is something worth celebrating.”

This Zero birthday represents a different era of Blog posting. One that is scary, exciting, but most importantly NEW. Beginning with obedience to the Lord by having said yes. “This candle is the first flame - the one that starts the mission and lights the next step.” To properly mark this occasion, I had a Zero Birthday Party, or a launch party if you will for With Heart where some of my closest girlfriends were able to join me in celebration and prayer. Not only was this uplifting but it was a concrete way to have others along with myself to hold me accountable to this project for Jesus. We are made for community after all by a triune God. It is only natural share in each other’s accomplishments and struggles in order to help one another run the race for eternal life. (“Share one another’s burdens and so you will fulfill the law. of Christ.” Galatians 6:2)

So, in light of celebrating my zero…where is your zero? In what area of your life can you say “yes” to the Lord? Is it applying to that dream job, or starting that project you’ve felt drawn to? Maybe it’s a “yes” to give Jesus just 15 minutes of your morning each day. How can you incorporate your community in to that “yes” and cultivate accountability? Wherever you are, you have to start somewhere and it may as well be with zero. Zero is not an empty number. It’s a perfectly fat round number FULL of possibilities.
